our daughter diagnosed at the age of 6 in 2012 and being the only deaf person that she knew a that time, wearing hearing aids was a problem for her. she would wear her hair down to cover her aids and shy away from any conversation about them. Taking this on as a project and sourcing different charms and decorations we made what she wanted to wear on her aids. It has increased her confidence & self-esteem.
The charms as well as a talking point for her friends act as a visual reminder to friends, teachers and visitors to look at her before they speak so that she can lip read.
